Policy of Screening for Plagiarism

Jurnal Pendidikan Keperawatan Indonesia (JPKI) is committed to maintaining the originality and integrity of the scholarly record. Submitted manuscripts may be screened using similarity-detection software as part of the journal's editorial and research-integrity assessment.
Editorial Evaluation of Similarity
Similarity reports are not interpreted solely on the basis of a numerical percentage. Editors assess the location, extent, source, context, and nature of overlapping text before determining whether a manuscript raises concerns regarding plagiarism or inappropriate text reuse.
Properly cited references, methodological terminology, commonly used scientific expressions, and other legitimate similarities are considered in context.
Forms of Unacceptable Overlap
- Plagiarism of another person's text, ideas, data, figures, or intellectual contribution;
- Substantial unattributed copying;
- Duplicate or redundant publication;
- Inappropriate reuse of previously published text without transparent attribution;
- Misrepresentation of previously published material as original work.
Depending on the nature and severity of the concern, JPKI may request clarification or revision, reject the manuscript, or take appropriate post-publication action in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics policy.
Similarity-detection software supports editorial assessment but does not replace responsible human evaluation and editorial judgment.
