Jurnal Pendidikan Keperawatan Indonesia (JPKI) has developed continuously since its establishment in 2015, strengthening its scholarly identity, national accreditation, open-access visibility, and international engagement.

Established 2015 SINTA 2 DOAJ Indexed International Engagement

Jurnal Pendidikan Keperawatan Indonesia (JPKI) was established in 2015 as an electronic, open-access scholarly journal published by Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Since its establishment, JPKI has provided a platform for the dissemination of research and scholarly work in nursing education and nursing science.

In 2016, JPKI strengthened its publication identity through the registration of e-ISSN 2477-3743 and the introduction of its print edition with p-ISSN 2541-0024.

The journal achieved an important milestone in 2018, when it received its national accreditation with a SINTA 3 ranking under Decree No. 34/E/KPT/2018. Its SINTA 3 accreditation was subsequently continued under Decree No. 200/M/KPT/2020.

In 2020, JPKI further expanded its visibility as an open-access scholarly journal by being accepted for indexing in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) on September 8, 2020.

As part of its efforts to broaden its international readership and scholarly reach, JPKI adopted an English-language publication policy in 2021, with manuscripts accepted for publication in English.

Another significant milestone was achieved in 2025, when JPKI's national accreditation was upgraded from SINTA 3 to SINTA 2 under Decree No. 10/C/C3/DT.05.00/2025.

In 2026, JPKI entered a further phase of internationalization by strengthening its international authorship, scholarly collaboration, and global orientation. Volume 12, Issue 1 (2026) included contributions from authors representing six countries: Indonesia, the United States of America, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, and India. In parallel, the journal has continued to strengthen its editorial policies, international research collaboration, and scope to enhance the relevance and visibility of JPKI within the global nursing community.

Internationalization of JPKI

The development of JPKI reflects a gradual transition from a nationally oriented scholarly publication toward broader international scholarly engagement.

The adoption of English-language publication, increased participation of international authors, cross-country scholarly engagement, and strengthened international research collaboration form part of the journal's continuing strategy to increase the accessibility, relevance, and visibility of its publications.

Jurnal Pendidikan Keperawatan Indonesia (JPKI) continues to strengthen its scientific quality, editorial governance, publication ethics, international research collaboration, open-access dissemination, and global scholarly engagement.

Building on its development since 2015, JPKI seeks to provide a credible and increasingly visible scholarly platform for advancing nursing education, nursing science, and evidence-based nursing practice within Indonesia and the wider international nursing community.
