The following frequently asked questions provide general guidance regarding manuscript submission, peer review, publication, fees, open access, research integrity, and other editorial policies of Jurnal Pendidikan Keperawatan Indonesia (JPKI).
1. What types of manuscripts does JPKI publish?
JPKI publishes Original Research Articles, Systematic Reviews, Scoping Reviews, and Case Studies that fall within the journal's Aims and Scope.
2. Does JPKI accept manuscripts from international authors?
Yes. JPKI welcomes submissions from scholars worldwide and particularly encourages international collaboration, multicenter studies, cross-country research, cross-cultural research, comparative studies, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
3. What language should manuscripts be written in?
Manuscripts submitted to JPKI should be written in English.
4. What peer-review model does JPKI use?
Manuscripts that pass initial editorial screening undergo double-blind peer review, in which author identities are concealed from reviewers and reviewer identities are concealed from authors.
5. Does JPKI charge a manuscript submission fee?
No. JPKI does not charge a manuscript submission fee. The Article Submission Fee is IDR 0.
6. What is the Article Processing Charge (APC)?
The Article Processing Charge is IDR 1,500,000 for each manuscript accepted for publication. Payment is requested only after formal editorial acceptance.
7. Are publication-fee waivers available?
JPKI considers individual waiver requests for authors experiencing legitimate financial constraints. Requests should be submitted during the manuscript submission process to [email protected].
8. Does the ability to pay the APC affect editorial decisions?
No. Editorial decisions are independent of an author's ability to pay publication charges and are based on scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, research integrity, relevance to the journal's scope, and peer-review outcomes.
9. How frequently is JPKI published?
JPKI is published biannually, with regular issues published in June and December.
10. Is JPKI an open-access journal?
Yes. Articles published in JPKI are made immediately available online without an embargo period.
11. What license does JPKI use?
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).
12. Does JPKI screen manuscripts for plagiarism?
Yes. Manuscripts may be screened using similarity-detection software. Similarity reports are evaluated contextually by editors and are not interpreted solely on the basis of a numerical similarity percentage.
13. Does JPKI permit the use of generative AI?
Generative AI may be used responsibly where appropriate, but it cannot be listed as an author. Authors remain fully accountable for manuscript content and should disclose material use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in accordance with JPKI's Generative AI Policy.
14. Does JPKI require a Data Availability Statement?
Authors should provide a Data Availability Statement indicating whether supporting research data are publicly available, deposited in a repository, available upon reasonable request, subject to ethical or legal restrictions, or not applicable.
15. How long does the editorial process usually take?
Current journal performance indicators report approximately 28 days to the first editorial decision and approximately 56 days to acceptance.
These figures are performance indicators rather than guaranteed processing times and may vary depending on manuscript quality, reviewer availability, revision requirements, and the complexity of the peer-review process.
16. Can authors archive or share their published articles?
Yes. Authors may share or deposit their published articles in accordance with JPKI's Deposit or Self-Archiving Policy and the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. The original JPKI publication and DOI should be acknowledged.
