About the Journal

The Journal of Physical Education for Secondary Schools (JPESS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Study Program, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. JPESS publishes original research, review articles, and empirical studies focusing on physical education, sports pedagogy, and health promotion at the secondary school level. The journal is published twice a year, in April and October, and welcomes contributions from researchers, educators, and practitioners worldwide. JPESS is indexed in Google Scholar and Garuda (p-ISSN 2776-3307; e-ISSN 2776-4648).

Call for Papers
JPESS is now accepting manuscript submissions for Vol. 6 No. 2 (October 2026). We welcome original research and review articles in physical education, sports pedagogy, and school health.

Information for Authors

Manuscripts must be written in English, formatted using the official JPESS Article Template, and prepared according to the Author Guidelines. A Highlights file is mandatory, and all submissions are screened for plagiarism via Turnitin.
